Gulf Islands Sailing Trip, May 2009

Shadowfax heads out of the storm.

And we follow the rainbow to our last anchorage, a narrow inlet on Prevost Island.

Going through Active pass, where the Ferry came through, but a little closer to the water this time.

Sure, its a great neighborhood, but the commute is a bit of a problem...

Heading off into the storm.

Ferry Dodging.

Andrew is a very trusting skipper.

Rugged Shoreline.

After leaving Preedy Harbour, we saw this magnificent Schooner...

We anchor and tie the boats together, and everyone hops on Shadowfax for a trip over to the Chemainus on the big Island.

Where we witness this example of less elegant transportation.

Barnacles on the Chemainus docks.

Our Anchorage in Preedy Harbour off Thetis Island. Sure, it looks calm now, but after dark a windstorm came out of nowhere . Strong enough, apparently, to cut off power to thousands of BC homes. We had a rocky night, but our anchors held.

Telegraph Harbour on Kuper Island. We stopped for Deisal here.
